The Purdue University College of Agriculture is seeking to hire a visionary, entrepreneurial individual as Associate Dean and Director of International Programs in Agriculture to provide creative leadership for its globally recognized international programs in learning, discovery, and engagement.
The successful candidate will have a broad vision of the international dimensions of a leading 21st century college of agriculture. He/she will be able to communicate that vision to faculty, students, citizens of Indiana, and to other stakeholders in national and international settings. The Director will promote faculty collaboration across disciplines, facilitate new initiatives, and provide creative leadership to implement international programs that encompass activities throughout the entire food, agriculture, and natural resources systems. He/she will possess the ability to work with faculty, national and international agencies, and private foundations to obtain funding necessary to implement and manage innovative programs. Duties will also include budget and personnel management.
The candidate must have an earned Doctorate, professional experience in an area related to food, agriculture, or natural resources, and a record of scholarship to merit appointment as a tenured full professor in one of the departments of the College. The candidate must have a proven record in international program development, strategic planning, administration, project management, and ability and experience to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of cultures. He/she must be committed to expanding and fostering diversity. It is desirable that the candidate be multilingual and have long term work experience outside the U.S.
