The conference presented results of the three-year global research project supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It brought together six research teams and relevant policymakers from project countries (Cambodia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, the Philippines, and Uganda) with the aim of identifying and synthesizing policy lessons from this CAPRi-sponsored project. It also discussed the key issues to be considered in implementing policy lessons, including effective ways for disseminating the research findings. Another goal of the conference was to forge stronger linkages between researchers and policymakers and to stimulate new discussions on the role of the institutions of collective action and property rights in poverty reduction.
