EVENT: Scaling Up Government Support To Secure Land Rights: Key To Achieving 2030 Global Goals

September 17, 2016

The Netherlands is co-organizing a side event titled "Scaling Up Government Support to Secure Land Rights: Key to Achieving 2030 Global Goals " at the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York.

Securing land rights for indigenous peoples and communities contributes to inclusive economic development, environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and are a key component of the 2030 development goals. Secured land rights are also at the center of commitments made to implement the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Forests and Fisheries.

The Government of the Netherlands is co-organizing a side event on this important issue with partners of Land Rights Now: A global call for action for indigenous and local community Land rights. During the event, you will be provided space to showcase important contributions you and your government are making to recognize rights of Indigenous peoples and local communities.

Please RSVP to this event (September 19, 2016)
